Not an AI Receptionist

Your clients called you. FieldStone doesn't put a robot in front of you — it rings your phone, takes the notes, and only picks up what you miss.

The difference

An AI receptionist answers instead of you. We don't.

That is the whole difference. A receptionist product puts software between your client and you — it greets them, qualifies them, and decides what reaches you. For a home service business that is the wrong trade. The call is where the job is won, and the person who wins it is you.

  • No phone tree and no screening questions
  • Your client hears you, not a synthetic greeting
  • You keep the context a transcript can't carry

On a genuine miss

What happens when you genuinely can't pick up

Twenty seconds of ringing with no answer and FieldStone takes the call rather than dropping it to voicemail. It says plainly that you couldn't pick up and that the call is recorded, asks who's calling and what they need, writes it down, and texts you a summary with the number ready to dial.

  • Only on a genuine miss — no answer, busy, or a failed line
  • It takes the name and the job; it cannot quote a price or book work
  • You get a text with the summary and tap-to-call-back
  • Nothing is promised to your client on your behalf

On the record

Everything said is still captured

Answered or missed, the call is transcribed and filed on the client. The details are extracted, an appointment is drafted when the conversation calls for one, and transcripts are deleted after ninety days.

  • A short disclosure plays before the call connects — record your own or use ours
  • Transcripts and extracted details on the client record
  • 90-day transcript retention, deleted automatically

The relationship

Still between you and Ben

Yours

Who is on the phone, and when

Your phone rings first

Calls come through to your number with the caller's real number on the screen. You answer them, the way your clients expect.

No robot in the middle

No phone tree, no screener, no assistant deciding whether a caller is worth your time. You are the voice on the line.

We pick up what you miss

If you cannot get to it, FieldStone answers, gets the name and what they need, and texts you a summary you can tap to call back.

The relationship stays yours

Clients called because they trust you. Our job is the paperwork after the conversation, not the conversation itself.

Questions people ask

Yes, but only on a missed call. Your phone rings first for about twenty seconds. If nobody picks up, FieldStone answers rather than letting it fall to voicemail. It is a safety net, not the front door.

No, on purpose. The missed-call assistant can take a name and what someone needs, and that is all. Booking happens through your web form, or by texting the client a set of times they can pick from.

Close to this: “Hi, I'm {assistant} with {your business}. They couldn't pick up, so they've got me covering for them — and just so you know, this call is recorded so I can pass along what you need. Can I get your name and what you needed help with?”

Today it is set per number when we onboard you, so tell us and we will leave the missed-call assistant off — calls go to voicemail instead. There is no self-serve switch in the dashboard yet.

Early access is open

We are taking 10 businesses in September, 3 left — grab your spot.

We are based in Kalamazoo, we set the whole thing up with you, and we stay until it runs without you thinking about it. If onboarding takes more than an hour of your time, your first month is free.
